Eligibility

We serve residents of Fairview Park, Lakewood, and Rocky River who, for any number of reasons, find it difficult to shop for food or prepare nutritious meals for themselves. (Those who live outside our service area may find help through another local program by clicking here.)

We do not apply income limitations or age restrictions to eligibility. Although many of our clients are seniors in need, anyone dealing with a physical or mental disability may request our service on a short-term or long-term basis. For example, clients may be:

  • Recovering from an injury, illness, or medical procedure.

  • Unable to drive.

  • Overtaxed caregivers.

  • Parents of newborns.

  • Members of the military returning from deployment.

Sample Meals

Our cooks work from an extensive range of recipes to ensure recipients enjoy a variety of appetizing meals from one day to the next – and one month to the next! Lunch meals are served cold, while our dinner meals are hot out of the kitchen.  Click here to see a sampling of the types of meals we serve on a weekly basis.

Cost

We charge $7.00 to deliver two meals (lunch and dinner) each day. Participants (or their designated payer) are billed at the beginning of each month for meals received during the previous month.

Our goal is to keep meal costs as low as possible, knowing that many of our clients are living on fixed incomes. Reduced-cost meals are available for a limited number of recipients who qualify; please contact the relevant kitchen for more information.

Getting Started

We know you'll have questions. If you think our services could meet your needs or those of a loved one, please contact the relevant kitchen to ask questions or set up an interview. One of our knowledgeable volunteers will arrange a mutually agreeable time and day to talk with the recipient and/or family members or contact person. The volunteer will assess the individual's needs, explain policies and billing, answer questions, and if all goes well, set up meal deliveries with an agreement of terms.

Our Meals

We provide a cold lunch and a hot dinner with each daily meal delivery. Trained cooks and volunteers prepare our balanced, home-style meals fresh each morning in our kitchens, and our drivers deliver those meals to clients’ doors by mid-day. Although our service is low-cost, it is not free.
